Gerd Jürgen Faigle was born in Mühlacker in 1949. He studied at the university of applied science for Finance as part of his training with the Baden-Württemberg fiscal authorities and took a degree in business finance (Diplom-Finanzwirt). From 1973 to 1978 he worked as a tax adviser with Treuberater Dr. Eversheim – Dr. Stuible GmbH Wirtschafts-
prüfungsgesellschaft Steuerberatungsgesellschaft (auditing and tax consulting firm) in Stuttgart/Düsseldorf. He then became a partner in MFP Morlock Faigle Partner Wirtschaftsprüfer Steuerberater Rechtsbeistand (auditors, tax advisers, legal counsels). He was appointed as tax adviser in 1983.

He joined BSKP in 2008.
