Frank Simon was born in Bielefeld in 1965. He studied law at the Universities of Bielefeld and Würzburg. His legal traineeship included placements in Vienna, Hong Kong and South Africa. He was admitted to the bar in 1996 and has specialized in family law (Fachanwalt für Familienrecht), law of succession (Fachanwalt für Erbrecht) and employment law (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht) since then. Moreover, he is a certified mediator according to the BAFM (Federal Association for Family Mediation).
Frank Simon gives lectures on a regular basis for the Maintenance and Family Law Interest Association (Interessenverband Unterhalt und Familienrecht e.V. – ISUV) and as part of the on-going education for lawyers organized by the The bar Association of Saxony (Rechtsanwaltskammer Sachsen). He works in the Association’s board of examiners for inheritance law. Lawyer Simon is co-founder of the BAFM-group mediation in a team (Mediation im Team) and at the same time one of the first lawyer-mediators in Saxony. He and Lawyer Rhinow-Simon are co-authors of the guide “Unterhalt in Sachsen” (maintenance in Saxony), the 3rd edition of which has already been published. Since 1996 Frank Simon has been a regular contributor to the local newspaper, Sächsische Zeitung, on issues of family law and law of succession. More than 300 articles have been published by now.
In an independent rating in December 2009, the renowned “Wirtschaftswoche” magazine named Lawyer Simon as one of the 25 best-known specialists in law of succession in Germany. Frank Simon is a lecturer for several banks, information centres and non-profit organisations.
He joined BSKP in 1996.
