Sebastian Kaufmann was born in Karlsruhe in 1964. He studied law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg. In 1992 he founded the law firm Steinke, Haas, Kaufmann und Partner in Dresden which merged into the firm Dr. Broll, Schmitt, Kaufmann & Partner (BSKP) in 2002. As a specialist in tax law (Fachanwalt für Steuerrecht) and in commercial and corporate law (Fachanwalt für Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht) he has since then provided advisory service to small and medium-sized businesses in questions of corporate law, restructuring, reorganization and corporate succession.

He joined BSKP in 1992.
