Steffen Niesel was born in Lauchhammer in 1976. He studied law at Dresden University of Technology and was admitted to the bar in 2005. In 2009 he became a certified specialist lawyer in industrial property rights protection (Fachanwalt für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz).

He joined BSKP in 2005.
