Marco Krappatsch was born in Berlin in 1967. He trained as assistant tax adviser and went on to take a degree in business finance (Diplom-Finanzwirt). He then worked as a tax inspector with Berlin fiscal authorities until 1994. This part of his career was followed by several years of work for medium-sized tax consulting and auditing firms, including the roles of general manager / regional office manager. He was admitted to practise as a tax adviser in 1999. He has worked as a self-employed tax adviser since 2004.

Mr Krappatsch gives lectures for a nationwide institute for further education, mainly in the fields of value added tax (VAT) and procedural law.

He joined BSKP in 2011.
