Cornelia Blank was born in Dresden in 1971. After a short period of work as a tour guide she studied law at Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen. During her traineeship (Wahlstation) she worked for Lawyer Dr Egmont Meißner in Rome/Italy, where she acquired comprehensive knowledge of Italian family law. She was admitted to the bar in 1999 and became a specialist in family law (Fachanwältin für Familienrecht) in 2002.

Cornelia Blank lectures on a regular basis for the Maintenance and Family Law Interest Association (Interessenverband Unterhalt und Familienrecht e.V. – ISUV) and for the Women’s Education Centre (Frauenbildungszentrum Dresden e.V.). At the focus of her interest is the prevention of domestic violence and of violence in social surroundings. During her stay in the U.S.A. in 2008 lawyer Blank was a court-appointed counsel accompanying and supporting children exposed to neglect and violence. To qualify for this honorary work she trained to be a CASA at the Court of Hudson County, Jersey City, NJ, USA.

She joined BSKP in 2002.
